The Challenge
Client: Bricknic
This project was my graduation project for my bechelor's degree in industrial design. The project's aim was to create a package design for Bricknic's new product: the Skewer Brick.

The Skewer Brick is a tablewear product which is used for flambé style cooking. It is made of four different fragile components: A clay dish, a metal skewer, a measuring glass and a bottle of cooking alcohol. The packaging design should protect the clay dish as well as hold the other components in a compact manner.

The box
Ideation
Ideation was performed for both the box that holds everything together and the insert that holds the parts preventing any movement.

The insert

The chosen configuration

This configuration was chosen as it is the most space efficient one while still protecting the parts. The alcohol bottle rests on top of the skewer dish with a layer of corrugated cardboard in between. The glass is placed on the side as well as the thin skewer. The seprating layer is attatched to the rest of insert, so it is a one peice cut-out. The box is code 0427 (FEFCO), which keeps Bricknic's product line consistent and provides enough protection.
