The Challenge

Client: Bricknic

This project was a side-job for my bachelor's graduation project. The graduation project was to design a packaging for a product, this project focusses on the product and it's evolution so that the packaging design could be created according to the product's requirementes and specifications.

The Skewer Brick

The Bricknic Skewer Brick is a plate that is specifically made for flambé style cooking. Therefore, not only a plate is needed to complete the set, but also a skewer, a measuring glass and the cooking alcohol. It was crucial that this product was proportionally linked to the Bricknic cooking Brick.

Iterations + Prototyping

The main iteration to the plate was amount of skewers that are held, which decreases from three to one. This was decided after looking closely at the stakeholders' needs, where it was clear that this plate would be used in restaurants to serve dishes in front of customers and only one skewer is needed per dish.

Another change is the wall from the first version was dicarded. This is due to the fact that the alcohol would not receive the correct airflow from the sides to be able to fuel the fire and it would make the flames quite high.

When it comes with relating to the brick, the indent at the bottom of the long sides allows the plate to fit into the Bricknic Brick.
